Alice Lake Provincial Park is only a few minutes drive (5 km) north of Squamish. The park has several hikes, including the easy 7.5-km "Four Lakes Hike". The hike can be done clockwise (as we did) or anti-clockwise. Going clockwise, one goes first to Stump Lake, then Fawn Lake, then Edith lake, then finally back down to popular (and busy in the summer) Alice Lake.

This year appears to be a bumper year for mushrooms. On this hike, we saw more than we'd ever seen before. We don't pick them, however, as (i) picking plants, including mushrooms, is illegal in BC Parks, and (ii) we do not have expertise identifying mushrooms.
We're happy to look and take photos.
The hike took us just under 2 hours (excluding stops). A little long for us, but David is still trying t get back into shape.
