OK, Alameda is not exactly "exotic" (but it is a nice, friendly and relaxed place).
We have done a number of fixes/improvements, but we are still shut down trying to figure out/repair our hydraulic steering. (Rebuilt helm pump but slipping still a problem. Now will rebuild ram/cylinder. Fingers crossed.)
No idea when we will be done.
We are constantly torn between the mountains and the sea. This blog is an account of our sailing adventures, both in British Columbia/Haida Gwaii, and to Mexico (2013-2015), as well as our mountain adventures (including skiing in the Winter, hiking in the Summer/Fall, and trekking in Nepal). Hopefully this blog will provide you with helpful information on these topics (in addition to documenting our adventures). Welcome!

Sorry for your mechanical woes. We ve had so many that we decided to go with wind vane steering. Hopefully the lack of electrical power requirements will mean less trouble. Good luck on your repair.

Thanks Deb. We are becoming more relaxed about it. Are you guys on the coast now?
